A world-class real estate company is seeking a Director of Insurance Risk Management to join their team. Reporting to the Executive Vice President as individual contributor you will be responsible for the corporate insurance program and due diligence on risk issues associated with acquisitions. Although it is a one person show, you will be receiving support with the D&O, G/L and P/I claims work. This is a great role for someone with a strong Real Estate background with a passion and knowledge of the real estate industry.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the claim process regarding property and liability claims
  • Lease and contract review regarding insurance and indemnity issues
  • Responsible for property and liability loss control
  • Deal with brokers, third party administrators and other service providers regarding  insurance, claims and cost issues
  • Responsible for corporate insurance budget as well insurance cost/claim allocations
  • Manage the captive insurance company
  • Deal with SHOP managers regarding insurance, loss control and claim matters
  • Respond to lenders regarding loan insurance requirements
  • Coordinate insurance certificate and compliance regarding vendors and tenants 
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree with a MBA / JD preference
  • Experience in the corporate risk management function • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance  
  • Ability to work with other employees, tenants, SHOP managers and service providers
  • Real estate and or senior housing experience strongly preferred
  • Associate in Risk Management is helpful
