We are currently screening candidates for an IMMEDIATE NEED with a well-established company in Orange County.  This position will start immediately upon selection and scheduled to be ongoing.  This role will involve assisting the leadership team in managing the ongoing recording, reporting and tracking of company assets, etc.  

Responsibilities Include:
  • Communicate, enforce, and update internal accounting policies and controls related to fixed assets.
  • Provide corporate guidance for the acquisition of all requested assets.
  • Supervise, coach and develop fixed asset accounting staff.
  • Provide regular reporting to Financial Planning group and cost center owners for budget reviews and forecast updates.
  • Act as corporate fixed asset liaison to parent company for all inquiries and requests.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly tax reporting to parent company.
  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the general ledger and sub-ledger system.
  • Track project assets under construction costs - ensure completed projects are settled accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the asset accounts in the general ledger.
  • Calculate capital interest for relevant assets monthly.
  • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets in sub-ledger - create Journal Entries for posting in general ledger.
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation – ensure lives, depreciation methods, and location coding is correct.
  • Calculate asset retirement obligations, prepare accruals as needed.
  • Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
  • Conduct periodic impairment reviews for displays and assets at all locations.
  • Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets at all locations.
  • Conduct various analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
  • Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
  • 5+ years of fixed asset accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting,
  • Strong hands-on experience using larger financial systems
  • Excel super-user (large data files, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage/ lead others and work well independently
